Leilani J Olson - Boston

Leilani has been working at Boston University Study Abroad (a division of BU Global Programs) in various capacities since 2003.  After a number of years in Program Management, where she managed and developed programs throughout Europe and Africa, including an exchange program with Sciences Po, she transitioned into a new position as Associate Director of University Relations and Campus Outreach in 2012.  In this role, Leilani directs and supervises all marketing, public relations, event planning, recruiting, and institutional relations efforts to promote BU’s international education programs both on the Boston University campus, as well as with partner institutions throughout the US.  Her educational background comprises a year in Angelholm, Sweden as a Rotary Youth Ambassador, prior to commencing her undergraduate career at Boston University where she pursued a double degree in International Relations and French Language and Literature. During her junior year, she participated in BU’s Grenoble Language and Liberal Arts Program at the Université Stendhal in the Université de Grenoble system, followed by a semester in Boston University’s Paris Internship Program.  Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1999, Leilani returned to Paris in order to obtain a Master’s Degree at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in International Relations and International Organizations, while simultaneously working in the BU Paris Center. In addition to speaking fluent English, French, and Swedish, she has studied Spanish and participated in Middlebury College’s Intensive Arabic Language Program at the Middlebury Arabic School.  She thoroughly enjoys maintaining ties to her alma mater, Sciences Po, as a Director on the Board of Directors of the US Sciences Po Alumni Association, as well as the Regional President of the Boston Club.
